Isolated Digital Current Meter 0-200A

Category: TC7107 ADC + 7-Segment Display

Notes

This circuit is designed and simulated in proteus 7.10. This is a very simple and useful circuit to convert analog current signal into digital current display in Amperes. 1. One IC TC7107 (ICL7107) does two function, one is analog to digital conversion (ADC) and second is display digital value directly to 7 segment (common anode). 2. TC7107 needs few resistors and few capacitors to perform its functionality. 3. TC7107 display 3 and a half digit, therefore the display range is limited to 199.9. 4. Also the current measuring range is 0V to 199.9A with resolution of 0.1A. 5. The calibration of display can be done by varying potentiometer RV1. 6. The input signal is in the form of voltage. 7. IC ACS758 is used as a current sensor (hall effect), the output of this sensor is isolated and it the form of voltage. 8. The output signal is further divided using resistor R6 and R1 and fed to TC7107 to measure the current. Application: 1. This circuit can be used as isolated digital current meter (0 to 200A). 2. This circuit can also be used analog to digital converter. 3. This circuit can also be used to monitor feedback voltages. 4. This circuit can also be used as digital thermometer.
