This circuit is designed and simulated in Proteus 7.10. PCB layout is also developed. Working of this circuit is easy to understand and it is given below. 1. The switching IC used in this circuit is MC34063. It is a 1.5A peak Boost/Buck/Inverting switching regulator. 2. In this circuit MC34063 is used as adjustable inverting dc-dc converter mode. 3. Input is 12Vdc, which is taken from battery. 4. The output voltage can be vary by varying potentiometer RV1. 5. Increasing value of RV1 decreases output voltages as shown in animation. 6. The resistor R4 is used to limit the output voltage and input current, this should be power resistor. 7. The switching frequency can be changed by changing capacitor C2. 8. The diode should be used greater than 2A and with fast recovery time. Therefore schotky diode is recommended. 9. The value of output inductor and capacitor can be calculated by using FDAC app. 10. Voltmeter and current meter is placed at output to measure output voltage and current. Application: 1. This circuit can be used to inverting step down DC voltage. 2. This circuit can be used to derive car indicator or anything from car battery. Note. More circuits will be coming soon.
