Category: Analog Circuits

Notes

This circuit is designed and simulated in Proteus 7.10. This is very simple circuit of rectification. Working of this circuit is given below. 1. In this circuit, just one transformer, two diodes, two inductors and only one load resistor is needed. 2. Both inductors are connected back to back with one end common. 3. Ground is taken from the common point of inductors (center of inductors). 4. Input of both diodes (anode) are connected at both secondary terminals of transformer respectively, second terminal (cathode) of both diodes are connected at common point and positive terminal of capacitor and output is taken from this point. 5. Output voltage is almost half of the input voltage, because the output is taken from the center point of inductors. Applications: 1. This circuit can be used as current doubler rectifier. 2. This circuit can be used to step down output voltage. Note. Keep visiting this EDAC app. More exciting circuits will be coming soon.
