Category: Analog Circuits

Notes

This circuit is designed and simulated in Proteus 7.10. This is very simple circuit of rectification. Working of this circuit is given below. 1. In this circuit, just one transformer, two diodes, two inductors and only one load resistor is needed. 2. Both diodes are connected back to back with common anode. 3. Ground is taken from the common point of diodes (center of diodes). 4. Input of both inductors are connected at both secondary terminals of transformer, second terminal of both inductors are connected at common point and positive terminal of capacitor and output is taken from this point. 5. Output voltage is almost half of the input voltage, because the output is taken from the center point of diode. Applications: 1. This circuit can be used as current doubler rectifier. 2. This circuit can be used to step down output voltage. Note. Keep visiting this EDAC app. More exciting circuits will be coming soon.
