This circuit is designed and simulated in Proteus 7.10. This is a very simple circuit to generate square wave with adjustable frequency using 555 timer IC. 1. Just two capacitors, one variable resistor and one 555 timer IC is needed to generate variable frequency square wave. 2. The value of variable resistor is inversely proportional to the frequency. 3. To increase the frequency, value of variable resistor is decreased as shown in the animation. 4. PCB layout is also designed and attached. Applications: 1. This circuit is used as a clock source. 2. This circuit is used to generate adjustable frequency square wave. 3. This circuit can be used to understand the working of 555 timer IC. Note: More exciting circuits are coming soon.
