This circuit is designed and simulated in proteus 7.10. In this circuit you will learn how to use 555 timer for generation of PWM signal. The working of this circuit is very simple and just few components are needed to make this circuit. 1. A 555 timer IC, one variable resistor, two general purpose diodes, two capacitors and two resistors are needed to make this circuit, which can be seen in the animation. 2. The output is taken from pin 3 (Q), and the output pwm signal is displayed on the oscilloscope channel one (shown in yellow color). 3. A 10nF capacitor is placed between pin 5 and ground, a 20nF capacitor is placed between pin 2 and ground and pin 2 is also connected with pin 6. 4. A resistor of 1K ohm is placed between pin 7 and pin 8. 5. A variable resistor with diodes on both ends with opposite polarity is placed with 1K ohm series resistor between pin 6 and 7 as shown in animation. 6. The duty cycle of PWM signal can be vary by changing the value of potentiometer as shown in the animation. 7. The frequency can be changed by changing the value of C2 and/or C1. Applications: 1. This circuit can be used as PWM signal generator. 2. This circuit can be used for battery desulfation. Note. New amazing circuits will be added soon. So check the EDAC app on regular basis.
