Notes

This circuit is design and simulated in Proteus, but can be designed in any analog circuit simulator. Before understanding this circuit, it is recommended to understand op-amp as inverting amplifier. 1. This circuit shows how integrator circuit is made and how it works. 2. Very few components needed to make integrator circuit. Only one resistor (10k), one capacitor (1nF) and one operational amplifier (LM358). 3. The non-inverting input of op-amp is grounded. 4. Input signal sinewave is applied at inverting input through resistor. 5. A feedback capacitor is placed between output and inverting pin of op-amp. 6. This circuit works as amplifier and integrator. 7. Input and output signal can be seen in oscilloscope. 8. Input signal is shown in blue color at channel B. 9. Output signal in shown in yellow color at channel A. 10. The input signal is sine wave and output signal is cos wave. 11. Mathematically if we integrate sine wave, we get cosine wave. 12. The integration time constant can be adjust or set by setting values or R & C, which is R*C. Application: 1. This circuit can be used to generate ramp signal from digital clock signal. 2. Can be used to integrate sine and cosine signals. Note: More circuit will be coming soon.
