This circuit is designed and simulated in Proteus 7.10. In this circuit you will learn how totem pole circuit works. This is a very simple circuit and easy to understand. Working of this circuit is given below. 1. This circuit is composed of 1 npn transistor, 1 pnp transistor, 1 resistor and 1 capacitor. 2. Input signal of 5V and 10Khz. 3. Oscilloscope is placed at input and output. Channel A (yellow waveform) is output and channel B (blue color is input). 4. Resistor R1 is used to limit the base current. 5. Capacitor C1 is placed to generate dead time between npn transistor Q2 and pnp transistor Q1. 6. When positive voltage is applied and resistor R1 then transistor Q2 is turned ON and transistor Q1 is OFF and output is connected to +5Vdc and positive 5V will appear at output. 7. Similarly, when negative or voltage is applied and resistor R1 then transistor Q1 is turned ON and Q2 is OFF and output is connected to 0Vdc and zero volt will appear at output. 8. This circuit is called totem pole MOSFET or IGBT driver. Applications: 1. This circuit can be used to understand deadtime control. 2. Thic circuit is used to understand how a mosfet driver is made.
