Remove Offset Using Capacitor

Category: Analog Circuits

Designer: RANA MUHAMMAD ADNAN KHALIL

Notes

This circuit is designed and simulated in Proteus 7.10. In this circuit a basic concept of offset removal is shown. 1. A capacitor is used in series to remove the offset from any signal. 2. The value of capacitor is selected according to the frequency. 3. As frequency of increases, the impedance of capacitor decreases. 4. Capacitor impedance relation with frequency is Xc = 1/2*pi*f*C 5. In oscilloscope, the input signal with offset is shown at channel A (yellow color), while output the output signal after removing offset is shown at channel B (blue color). Application: 1. This concept is used in many circuits, the example is audio amplifier, ECG amplifier etc Download this file if you want to do more experiments.
